The Housing List

The Housing List is a database of all student housing registered at The University of Northampton.

Landlords wishing to offer accommodation to students at The University of Northampton are strongly advised to register their properties on the Housing List. The list is the first stop for students looking for housing and is heavily advertised at both Park and Avenue Campuses.

The Housing List is currently closed for updating and will be re-opened on Wednesday 8 February 2012

Two cycles of the Housing List

For 2012 the Housing List will be divided into two cycles.

First cycle

The first stage of the next housing cycle will begin Wednesday 8 February 2012 for accredited properties only. The List will be ongoing and updated regularly during this period as more properties are accredited and come onto the list.

The registration fee for accredited properties will remain at £15 per property, to be paid via cheque. Please note that adverts will not be displayed until all monies and safety certificates are received in the office.

We understand that there is a backlog with the accreditation schemes for those landlords who are looking to be re-accredited.  The University has therefore agreed to advertise these properties on the first cycle as they have met the original obligations of the scheme.

Second cycle

The second stage of the housing cycle will begin Wednesday 6 June 2012 for properties that have not yet been accredited. This will encompass all stages of the accreditation process up to the final inspection, confirming that all works have been completed.

The registration fee for non-accredited properties will remain at £35 per property, to be paid via cheque. Please note that adverts will not be displayed until all monies and safety certificates are received in the office.

Registered landlords can view their adverts online at any time during the Housing List period using the username and password supplied in the registration letter.

Accommodation must be inspected and approved under the Northampton Student Accreditation Scheme or landlords must be registered with The East Midlands Landlord Accreditation Scheme (EMLAS), before being advertised on the Housing List. Find out more about accreditation requirements.
