Chancellor's Fund Awards

Chancellor's Fund awards March 2012

The University of Northampton has awarded several students and staff members funding through the Chancellor's Fund.

The Chancellor's Fund was set up to help support students; staff and volunteers at the University launch new initiatives, seek additional training, embark on research projects or help ameliorate student hardships.

Kennedy Mdaki (PhD in Bio Chemistry) was awarded £1,000 to help fund his research into ageing diseases and also to fund his travel to San Francisco where he will be visiting The Buck Institute for Research on Ageing, who are leading the way on research into ageing diseases in the human body.

Emmanuel Adukwu (PhD in Micro-biology), was awarded £900 to fund his travel to a major conference in San Francisco.

BA Acting students Alexandra Donnachie, Hannah Smith and Aimee Campbell were awarded £500 to help fund their final year acting project. The play titled "A Womb With A View" was written by the group and tackles the subject of fertility and sexual health. The play was performed in the Leicester Square Theatre in London. 

Jane Ellison, BA Surface Design & Printed Textiles was awarded £300 to help fund her leather workshop which will be used to create leather seats and Panniers for motorcycles.

Adnana Andreea Apetrei (Joint Hons in Psychology & Philosophy) is an international student from Romania and was awarded £500 for student hardship.
