Sustainability
The University of Northampton recognises that our activities impact upon the local and global environment, and we acknowledge a responsibility for, and a commitment to, lessening their impact.
Under the direction of the University's cross-functional Environmental Working Group we are moving forward in principle and in practice in the areas of:
- Energy saving and carbon management
- Sustainable travel and transport
- Waste minimisation
- Biodiversity
- Sustainable construction and design
- Sustainable procurement
Everyone studying, working or living at the University can make a difference and play a valuable part in creating greener campuses and working towards a sustainable future.
The University has an Environmental Policy and has achieved the EcoCampus Silver award for the initial development of its Environmental Management System. The University's environmental performance targets have been set by the Environmental Working Group.
