Scholarships and awards
The University of Northampton endeavours to give all students the opportunity to study in higher education. Each year many students are helped financially by a range of scholarships and bursaries offered through The University of Northampton Foundation.

Davidge Usher Scholarship
The Davidge Usher Scholarship is available to applicants studying a full-time course within the School of Education or the School of Health. It supports students attending an undergraduate, non-professional course.
Successful students will receive £3,000 in three separate payments of £1,000 each year.

Dr Mike Daniel Research Degree Scholarship
This scholarship is applicable to support the work of full-time research degree students following a course of study at The University of Northampton. This Scholarship is for the amount of £500.

John Lowe Scholarship
The John Lowe Scholarship is available to applicants studying the following courses:

Successful applicants will receive £2,000 paid in two separate payments of £1,000 each; at the start of the second year of study and at the start of the third year of study.

Leslie Church Postgraduate Scholarship
The Leslie Church Research Award provides up to £3,300 to support a research student in the pursuance of their research degree programme at The University of Northampton. The Award is provided by the Leslie Church Memorial Trust and is available to research students, undertaking full-time or part-time study.

Micropak Scholarship
The Micropak scholarship is available to applicants attending a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate course at The University of Northampton, within the Institute for Creative Leather Technologies, and it is applicable to current enrolled students. Eligible courses are:

The successful candidate will receive a scholarship award of £1,000 per annum for each completed year of study to a maximum of three years. Payable at the start of the first year and if applicable will be available to the recipient for the second and third year of a three year BSc Leather Technology course.

Reid Access Bursary
This is applicable to UK only students studying either BSc (Hons) Biology, BSc (Hons) Applied Conservation, BSc (Hons) Engineering or the Leathersellers Certificate.
Students should have a household income (as assessed by Student Finance England) of £40,000 or less per year. Applicants must provide a copy of their Financial Notification Payment Schedule before an award can be confirmed. Applicants must receive a provisional offer and select The University of Northampton as their firm UCAS choice.

Sir John Lowther Scholarship
The scholarship is available to students who have been offered a place at The University of Northampton to undertake postgraduate research within the School of The Arts.

TD Lewis Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded on educational excellence and is primarily based on academic record. The scholarship is applicable to students studying undergraduate or postgraduate courses with The University of Northampton.
The amount of funding may vary. Previous awards have been to the value of £1,800. There is also a small award of up to £200 available for a resident, or the son or daughter of a resident, of the Borough of Northampton.

The Tate Scholarship
The Ann Tate Scholarship is available to support an undergraduate student studying a full-time non-professional programme at The University of Northampton. The applicants will have been a pupil at The Northampton Academy, Northampton or The Malcolm Arnold Academy, Northampton prior to application. Successful students will receive £3,000 in three separate payments of £1,000 each year.

Worshipful Company of Cordwainers
The Worshipful Company of Cordwainers' Scholarship is available to applicants attending a full-time undergraduate, non-professional course at The University of Northampton, within the School of The Arts, Division of Fashion. It is applicable to current students.

The Max Engel Memorial Bursary
The Max Engel Memorial Bursary is available to final year undergraduate students, studying within the School of Social Sciences to undertake postgraduate study leading to a law based career. The candidates should have at least 200 credits (ie 10x20 credit modules) from the undergraduate Law Field module catalogue. Previous awards have been to the value of £1,500.

The Wilson Endowment Scholarship
The Wilson Endowment Scholarship is available to applicants attending a full-time undergraduate, non-professional course at The University of Northampton and must have firmly accepted an offer within two years of leaving full-time secondary education. Applicants who were born in Northamptonshire or who have lived in Northamptonshire for a minimum of one year are eligible to apply.
The scholarship will provide successful students commencing in 2011 with £1,000 in two separate payments of £500 payable each year.

The Byrom Award
The Byrom Award is available to support an undergraduate student at The University of Northampton to undertake a programme of study, research or other training in the United States of America. The award will assist a student undertaking a programme of study at a recognised institution of higher education; or to undertake research towards the requirements of a degree at The University of Northampton; or to participate in a training programme such as an internship. Applicants must be enrolled on an undergraduate, non-professional programme at The University of Northampton.

Leathersellers Company Scholarship
The Leathersellers' Company Scholarship is available to applicants attending a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate non-professional course at The University of Northampton within the Institute of Creative Leather Technologies. The scholarship is applicable to new and continuing students.

The Trumpler Award
The Trumpler Award is available to support a student studying BSc Leather Technology within The Institute for Creative Leather Technologies (ICLT). The category for the award is a student who has made the most progression/ development. Consideration will be given to students who have commenced their second or third year of study in the autumn term 2011. The successful candidate will receive an award of \u20ac1,000, to be made in UK pounds, at the UK currency rate at the time of selection.

Union Specialties Scholarship
The Union Specialties scholarship is available to applicants attending a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate course at The University of Northampton, within the Institute for Creative Leather Technologies, and is applicable to current enrolled students. The Chancellor's Fund
The Chancellor's Fund supports students and staff on application and awards are made bi-annually. The fund will support those who need modest awards of between £100-1,500 under the following categories:
- New and innovative start-up projects

Assistance to alleviate student hardship
- Extra-curricular activities, volunteering or sport
- Priority projects - linked to the University's strategic plan, including new and innovative start-up projects, academic resources and training

Maggie Barwell Scholarship
A scholarship to support a student showing outstanding potential, attending an undergraduate full-time, non-professional programme within the School of The Arts, Division of Fashion and Textiles. Applicants will submit a project as identified by the Head of Division of Fashion.

The John Butler, Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners Scholarship
The endowed scholarship is available to students studying either an undergraduate, postgraduate or professional cleaning related environmental science course within the School of Science and Technology.

Water Conservation Bursaries
The Water Conservation Bursaries are funded by the Worshipful Company of Water Conservators and they are offering a support package to a student studying MSc Wastes Management (full-time) course at The University of Northampton. The applicant must have been resident in the UK for at least five years, meet the entry requirements and be a full-time student at The University of Northampton.
