Equality Act 2010: Statement of Compliance

At a meeting of the University Governors held on Thursday 23 June 2011 the following statement and appendices were approved, in the context of new legal requirements placed on the University by the Equality Act 2010.

The appendices to the Statement of Compliance contain:

1. Web links to useful good practice guidance, both in respect of specific "protected characteristics" (for example race, disability, gender etc), and specific functions of the University (for example estates management, student services, Governing Bodies etc)
2. A briefing note on the relationship between equality and diversity issues and the University's Strategic Plan 2010-12 "Raising the Bar".
