Public Engagement in Research
The School of Health recently piloted the Public Engagement in Research training course. If you would like to attend our next PPI course please see further information and contact details below.
The course is designed for service users, carers and staff involved in Health and Social Care. We aim to fully equip participants with the skills and confidence to approach involvement in service research, development, delivery and evaluation.
Participants will develop an understanding of the purpose and application of research and the ways in which it contributes to involving public and patients in service development and delivery. On completion of the course participants will be able to explain the key stages in investigating topics for research and understand the different roles and functions of research processes. The course will also provide participants with the tools to develop their own methods of enquiry.
The courses may be completed with or without an assessed element. Participants opting to undergo assessment, and who successfully achieve this assessment, will obtain 20 credits at level 4.
