About us

NHS Northamptonshire and The University of Northampton are the lead organisations behind the Centre for Health and Wellbeing Research.

Recognition within NHS Northamptonshire and The University of Northampton of the contribution research can offer to both the health outcomes of the population and the development of world class services has led to the development of a visionary research strategy, supported by significant capital investment. NHS Northamptonshire regards the development of well-designed studies sensitive to local need and the delivery of national portfolio research locally as an essential part of its research strategy and is working with all health providers to propagate this vision across the county.

Research forms a significant part of the NHS Northamptonshire proposal, stating that there is a strong case to 'develop, conduct and expand research in primary care, predominantly because decisions made in this speciality should be based on sound clinical evidence'.
