Tuition fees 2012/13 - Current full time ‘home’ and EU undergraduate students

If you are a current student in 2011/12, on a course you started before 1 September 2012, you will be treated as a 'continuing' student and therefore will be liable to pay tuition fees under pre 2012 regulations provided that you:

- continue on the course in 2012/13 without a break in studies

AND

- remain on the same mode of study

(that is, if you are currently studying full-time you must continue to study full-time; if you are studying part-time you must continue to study part-time).

Students who are repeating part of their full-time course on a part-time basis in 2011/12 will retain 'continuing' status if they return to full-time study in 2012/13 without any break in studies.

Top-up to BA or BSc Honours in 2012/13

Current HND and Foundation Degree students who commence a top-up to BA Honours or BSc Honours in 2012/13, without a break in study, will retain 'continuing' status and will be liable to pay tuition fees under pre-2012 regulations, provided the two courses are in the same mode of study (that is, either both are full-time or both are part-time).

Current students who meet the criteria for 'continuing' status will be liable to pay fees of £3465  for their BA/BSc Honours top-up degree in 2012/13.  

Students who have taken a break in studies (other than the normal summer vacation) or who change their mode of study will be liable to pay the higher fee rate of £8,500 in 2012/13.

Repeat module fees                               

'Continuing' students who are repeating part of their full-time course (up to 90 credits) on a part-time basis in 2012/13 will be liable to pay the module rate listed in the table above, provided there is no break in study and the repeat modules are taken immediately following on from the academic year 2011/12.

'Continuing' students who change their mode of study from full-time to part time in 2012 to repeat part of their full-time course will retain 'continuing' status under pre 2012 tuition fee regulations when they return to full-time study in 2013/14 (provided there is no break in study).

Previously withdrawn from a higher education course?

Part-time tuition fees

Funding your course

'Continuing' students who intend to apply for student support for a tuition fee loan, maintenance loan or maintenance grant should submit an application to Student Finance England as early as possible to ensure that any funding they may be entitled to is in place when they return to their studies in 2012/13. The University of Northampton Bursary (2009 to 2011)

'Continuing' students who are liable to pay fees of £3465 in 2012/13 may be eligible to receive The University of Northampton Bursary (2009 -2011) if their household income is below £40,000 (other criteria apply). 

Other scholarships may be available to support your studies.
