Supporting Learners Understanding the School and the curriculum

This module has been developed to provide professional development for Teaching Assistants and can be an introduction to the Specialist Teaching Assistant, STA course. It examines the National Curriculum and recent developments in Education as well as addressing the issues of professional competency for Teaching Assistants.

Module content includes:

• Course orientation and study methods
• An introduction to the National Curriculum
• The roles and responsibilities of teaching  assistants
• Creating an effective working partnership
• The School and the Community.
