I started to work in schools six years ago as a lunch time supervisor in a primary school, moving to a middle school as a behaviour mentor before the restructuring in 2004. I then went on to work as a TA in a secondary school before moving to Ferrers Specialist Art College to train and work as a HLTA.

I am the Maths HLTA at 'The Ferrers.' I was first employed in the Maths faculty as a Teaching Assistant in 2001. I achieved HLTA status in 2004 by the 'assessment only route.' I found the three days of training were very helpful with regard to providing the evidence and explaining the standards.
