Needs Assessment Centre

Welcome to the Needs Assessment Centre (NAC). We are an independent Assessment Centre providing a specialist service for students requiring assessment for the Disabled Students' Allowances (DSA). The NAC is open to all higher education students eligible for the DSA. We are based within The University of Northampton and our Main Centre is located at Avenue Campus.

In addition to our Main Centre, the NAC also has two Outreach Centres that operate via the Indigo Dyslexia Centre; these are located in Norwich and Ipswich.

Why should you choose to come to the NAC?

The NAC staff, assessors and associates come from various professional backgrounds to provide a wealth of experience in supporting students with a very wide range of physical disabilities, medical conditions, mental health difficulties and specific learning differences (like dyslexia); this ensures your assessment will be individual and tailored to your specific needs. Additionally we undertake continual training to develop our skills and to ensure we are fully informed and are recommending you the latest technology and equipment to aid you in your studies.

For more information, or to make an appointment at any of our 3 venues, please call 01604 892668 or email nac@northampton.ac.uk. Before you book your assessment with us you will need to have received a 'DSA Eligibility Letter' from your Funding Body to go ahead with your DSA Assessment Interview. For further guidance please see our DSA Needs Assessment information.
