Open Access week 2011

Announcing an Open Access week competition - win a bottle of Champagne!

All researchers are invited to submit copies of the full text of their research outputs to NECTAR.  The three people who submit the greatest number of full text items to NECTAR before the end of Open Access Week (30 October) will each win a bottle of Champagne.  (Non text items such as images, sound files and video are equally acceptable.)

Submitting your work to NECTAR is simple:

  • If it is a new item for NECTAR then simply upload the full text along with the bibliographic information using our instructions for researchers
  • If the full text belongs to an item already listed in NECTAR then please send it by email to the NECTAR team.

At this stage please don't worry about copyright violation, the NECTAR team will work with you to resolve any potential problem before the item goes live.  Don't forget, even if you have signed a copyright transfer agreement, you may still be able to deposit it in NECTAR.

Open Access week celebration

Despite significant interest in our planned event to celebrate international Open Access Week 2011, it appears that 27 October is simply not a good date for many people. Rather than go ahead with an event which many researchers will miss, we have decided to postpone it for now. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.

A new date and further details will be announced on this page as soon as these have been arranged.

If you have any questions please get in touch with Miggie Pickton or the NECTAR team.
