Languages and English as a Foreign Language
The University of Northampton offers French, Spanish and Mandarin courses, as well as English as a Foreign Language (EFL).
The University offers a multicultural environment, with European and international students studying alongside 'Home' students, and many tutors being native speakers of the language they teach.
Students at The University of Northampton can combine Modern Languages modules with their main degree programme. French can also be studied on the Joint Honours degree programme. EFL is delivered through pre-degree and foundation courses, undergraduate modules and postgraduate provision.
Languages are taught in small groups, with an emphasis on communicating with others, using authentic materials and making use of a wide range of online resources.
Students are fully supported throughout their studies by personal and academic tutors who can give advice and guidance as well as feedback on performance.
English language and study skills support are also available to all international students who are non-native speakers.
