Probation and Policing
The University offers two Foundation Degrees for students who are interested in working in policing or probation, along with a top-up BA degree for graduates of the FdA. Foundation Degrees last two years and directly qualify students for entry into the police or probation services.
Police and Criminal Justice Services FdA
Police and Criminal Justice Services FdA is a Foundation Degree which meets the national occupational standards for policing as a member of the Northamptonshire Forces Police Specials. On completion of this course students will be qualified to apply to join the Police as a Police Constable.
Policing FdA is also available to students who on completion will be eligible to join Thames Valley Police through a shortened initial training period.

Offender Management FdA
Offender Management FdA is a Foundation Degree through which students learn how to work effectively with offenders, undertake placements and learn how the probation service fits into the wider criminal justice system. The FdA meets the occupational standards required by the probation service.

Applied Criminal Justice Studies BA (Hons)
Applied Criminal Justice Studies (top-up) BA (Hons) allows students to top up their foundation degree to a full BA (Hons) The top up provides a sound and relevant educational foundation for a range of professional careers within the criminal justice system or for further study.
