Leather Technology
The University of Northampton is home to the Institute for Creative Leather Technologies (ICLT). The ICLT offers a range of practical courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

- PhD Leather Technology
- MPhil Leather Technology
- MSc Leather Technology
- MSc Leather Technology (International Environmental Management)
- MSc Leather Technology (International Marketing)
- BSc Leather Technology (Leather Science, Environment, Marketing or Business) (one year top-up)
- Leathersellers Certificate (Leather Science, Environment, Marketing or Business)
- Leathersellers' Diploma (Leather Science, Environment, Marketing or Business)
Individual short courses ranging from one week to three months can also be arranged to meet individual needs.
Facilities
The University of Northampton has its own tannery with a complete range of tannery machinery available to students. General and specialist laboratories for chemical and physical testing are also available.
The ICLT also has the facility to contract, tan and process a wide range of hides and skins in small batches.
Research
The Institute for Creative Leather Technologies has a very active research group covering many aspects of leather manufacture and material science, as well as fundamental collagen chemistry.
