Staff borrowing
Loan entitlements
Staff may borrow up to 25 items, 15 equipment loans, 5 videos and any reference material at the discretion of the Academic Librarians.
Overdue items are subject to the following fines:

You will need a staff ID card to borrow items.
If you require a new staff card then please email staffcards@northampton.ac.uk to book an appointment to have your photo taken. Alternatively, email staffcards@northampton.ac.uk with a head and shoulders photograph (jpg format) of yourself.
Reservations
Items on loan to other users can be reserved using the 'Place Request' feature on the Library catalogue.
How do I renew my items?
There are two ways to renew items:
- Yourself - using the My Account link on the Library catalogue
- By taking the book and/or your library card to the Self service machines
Books and DVDs may be renewed up to 15 times, unless they are reserved by another customer.
All equipment (apart from laptops) may also be renewed up to five times.
Missing items
If you have lost an item or believe you have brought it back but it is still showing on your account, please let us know at libraryhelp@northampton.ac.uk, including the following details:
- Your name
- The name of the item
Borrowing from other libraries
Staff may use the Interlibrary Loan service.
Staff are also entitled to use the SCONUL Access scheme. Print off and complete an application form and hand it in at either library and a card will be created for you.
