Background

The Senate Users Group (now Staff Social Group) was formed in 1998/9 following the opening of the Senate staff building which was given to the University by the Kenneth E Horne Trust. As a way of thanking the trust for their kindness it was decided that staff should choose a local charity each year and events of both a fundraising and social nature arranged in support of the charity.
