Welcome to the Multi-Faith Chaplaincy

The University of Northampton has a team of part-time Chaplains appointed at the invitation of the Vice Chancellor in consultation with their respective faith bodies. We aim to serve everyone at The University of Northampton and work together as a team, with each Chaplain having a special concern for members of their own faith or tradition.

The Multi-Faith Chaplaincy Centre is located in Charles Bradlaugh Hall, Flat C2, at Park Campus. The Chaplains aim to keep the Centre open every day from 10am-3pm or later. You are welcome to drop-in at any time, but to be sure of finding a Chaplain during vacation times, please ring first on 01604 892488.

You are also welcome to drop in at any time for a coffee, to meet others, to find a listening ear, or simply for a time of personal quiet. There are opportunities for reflection, prayer, discussion and worship.

Multi-faith prayer rooms with washing facilities are provided in the Chaplaincy Centre at Park Campus and at Avenue Campus in MY40.

Occasional acts of united Christian worship such as the annual carol service are organised and we promote a programme of public lectures and seminars.

Religious festivals

Religious festivals may be on fixed dates, or move from year to year, especially if they are based on the lunar calendar.

The University tries to avoid major festivals – for example when setting exams – but if you find there is a problem for you, please talk to your tutor, Student Services, or for staff, your line manager.

The BBC provides information about festivals, but you may have to scroll to find the current year as both historic and future dates are shown.
