Schools and Colleges Liaison
Year 10 students on a recent visit to the University
The Schools and Colleges Liaison team provides guidance and support regarding university options to Years 12, 13, further education (FE) students and their parents/carers, as well as teachers, tutors and advisers.
We understand the crucial importance of students' decisions regarding higher education (HE) options, and the need to provide excellent information and encouragement to students through their transition from FE to HE.
We offer a comprehensive programme of activities to support school and college students, designed to cover the following key stages in their university decision-making cycle:
- Introducing university
- Researching university options
- Making applications
- Student finance information
- General preparations for university (including study skills)
We offer several activities for each of these areas, which we can deliver in schools and colleges.
We also offer a programme of visits to the University for students in Years 10–13, designed to offer students the opportunity to experience life on campus first-hand.
Recent feedback from regional teachers includes:
- ‘Excellent feedback from students – always know sessions will be of a high quality’
- ‘Absolutely brilliant, a real help, really positive feedback from parents’
- ‘Excellent as ever. We have come to rely on the team to help deliver our higher education programme’
