Higher education fair at the University

The role of the Marketing department is to spread the word about the benefits of higher education and, in particular, The University of Northampton.

Marketing campaigns informed by research and contact with past, present and future students bring in thousands of requests for information from prospective students.

Marketing staff then use their strategic skills to encourage progression from their first enquiry to joining the c.10,000 current students and signing up for a programme of study through open days, Higher Education fairs and liaising with schools and colleges.

Developing strong and mutually beneficial relationships with a variety of key stakeholders, including businesses, schools and colleges and other higher education institutions is another crucial aspect of the work in this department.

Staff are always available to help and advise Schools and Departments within the University to make the most of their activities and recruitment drives. They are also constantly moving forward in the development of promotional literature for the institution and are responsible for all corporate promotional campaigns from inception to evaluation and review.

Based at Avenue Campus, Marketing is part of Marketing and External Relations department.

The University of Northampton brand and the accompanying brand manual have been created to portray a consistent image that will do justice to the University, its staff, students, alumni and partners. The intention is to give the University a uniform corporate identity, greater visibility and more powerful marketing possibilities. Marketing staff are responsible for ensuring that the brand is not distorted in any way and will work with colleagues and other organisations to make sure that the guidelines in the manual are correctly adhered to.

The brand manual and logo are also available for use with prior agreement by organisations and businesses associated with the University. Please contact Daniel Falls on daniel.falls@northampton.ac.uk or 01604 893269 for more information.
