This course is specifically designed to enable holders of a UK HND Business qualification (or international equivalent) to 'top-up' to a full honours degree via a distance learning programme lasting either 15 or 27 months.

Applicants are expected to have successfully completed a Business-related HND (or overseas equivalent).
If English is not your first language you must provide evidence that you will be able to study at degree level in English. You will be required to show that your use of English is equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 550/213.

Course content
The programme both builds upon the vocational approach of HNDs and encourages students to take a critical and analytical approach to their understanding of business (particularly in the Strategic Management and Critical Perspectives on Management areas).
The course is challenging and hard work but the upside for successful students will be a real sense of achievement, an improved skill set and increased career opportunities. It enables you to combine your business and management work with distance learning study.
Special course features
- The online content uses the reliable Blackboard virtual learning environment as the platform for learning materials. Students must therefore have access to a computer at home
- Tutors and a dedicated administrator offer email support to deal with any problems or difficulties you may encounter
- The Business dissertation will be supported by an individual supervisor who will offer advice on draft work

All modules are compulsory and are designed to give you a balanced approach to the study of Business and Management. The 'standard' version of the course enables students to complete two modules at a time, involving 12 hours per week of distance learning study.
Students can complete the course in 15 months. However it is possible to study the course at a more relaxed 'flexible' pace; students can take one module per semester and complete the course in 27 months

Assessment
Assessment is via essays, portfolios, reports and online tests.

Current 'Home' and EU undergraduate students: Information on 2012/13 tuition fees
Fees quoted are for home and EU students commencing their course in the academic year 2012/13. Tuition fees are payable for each year of the course. The fees are subject to annual increases in subsequent academic years.
Distance learning fees
Year 1: £3000 (fee for whole course - payable in year 1)

Information regarding support with course fees'Home' and EU students who are living and studying in England may be eligible to receive support with course fees from Student Finance England under part-time student support regulations. (other eligibility criteria apply)
The type of support you might receive will depend on whether you are treated as a new student under 2012 regulations or a 'continuing' student under pre-2012 regulations.

Distance learning students who are living and studying in other EU countries (or outside the EU) will not normally be eligible to receive support from Student Finance England.
