Students will have special qualities arising from a passion and commitment to Leisure and Lifestyle Management. This course is intended as an insight and overview for Leisure and Lifestyle Management. The programme contains industry relevant qualifications to enable students to get a number of steps on the ladder within this particular field.

Course content
The course covers all aspects of the leisure management industry with a key focus on how consumers make certain lifestyle choices that are related to leisure and the implications this might have.
Stage one
The development of leisure lifestyles has become a key issue in today's modern society. The leisure choices that we make will clearly impact on the development of the industry today, you will look at how the discipline of the subject has emerged over the last decade.
At this level students will be able to gain two of the industry qualifications that are built within this framework both in event planning and design.
Stage two
At
this stage the conceptual understanding from stage one is developed further and
students are able to apply management skills to the broader areas within this
industry. They will look at and investigate more in-depth areas such as sport,
events, leisure, active and passive approaches to our lifestyles. There will
also be further opportunities for students to gain further industry relevant
qualifications within the programme.
Stage three
Students at this stage will be able to look at real life consultancy projects and offer some advice to the strategic direction for an organisation and how it may position itself in an area related to the industry. Further to this, students will develop the critical ability and skills to look at and develop ideas of entrepreneurship within this sector to make themselves innovative in becoming more employable or even starting up their own businesses.

Assessment
A variety of individual and group-based assessments are used including: written reports, presentations, portfolios, creative project management, live client management and engagement, together with more formal assessment via examination and presentations.

Consumers and corporations as well as global society are today consumed by leading a lifestyle through active or passive leisure and considerably more people are involved in all aspects of leisure than ever before. This has spawned a new breed of the leisure management and lifestyle entrepreneur and industry specialist. As a consequence there are numerous new openings for career-minded and focused leisure and lifestyle specialists in such areas as active and passive approaches to this evolving area, and also more importantly how it is managed.
