This course is designed for qualified lawyers seeking to deepen their subject knowledge and enhance their career prospects, either as legal practitioners or within a legal environment in non-governmental organisations (NGOs) or government.

Entry requirements
Those who have successfully completed the Legal Practice Course or Bar Vocational Course may be credited with having completed six modules and will be eligible for an LLM, on passing the research methods and dissertation modules.

Course content
This course will develop analytical, evaluative and research skills and provide students with an opportunity to undertake an individual piece of original research.
Students will benefit from a dedicated team of lecturers who have commercial and professional law backgrounds, as well as substantial teaching experience on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Students will study one research methods module in each term, followed by the dissertation.

Assessment
Formal course assessment is based on two research proposals and the dissertation.

- Research methods (two ten credit modules)
- Dissertation (60 credits)

Fees quoted are for home and EU students commencing their course in the academic year 2012/13. Tuition fees are payable for each year of the course. The fees are subject to annual increases in subsequent academic years.
