Entry requirements
Applicants will have achieved a HND/Foundation Degree in Civil Engineering or related areas. Applicants would normally be expected to achieve an overall merit grade in Foundation Degree/HND.
This course complements the skills and knowledge gained at Foundation Degree/HND level in Civil Engineering. The course will cover project management issues, application of information technology, advanced structural analysis and infrastructure development.

Course content
It will concentrate on developing the student's ability to evaluate the major technical and management issues facing the industry in the 21st century. The course is relevant and responsive to meet the needs of industry whilst possessing the academic depth and rigour required of a higher education programme
The course will cover project management issues, application of information technology, advanced structural analysis and infrastructure development. The individual research project will form a key part of this course.
Stage three
Students will complete four taught modules of 20 credits each and a research project worth 40 credits.

Assessment
The course includes a wide variety of assessment methods including written work, presentations and time constrained assessment. Assessment is continuous throughout the course.
