Entry requirements
Applicants must have 120-140 UCAS tariff points. In addition to standard entry requirements, applicants will be expected to have achieved GCSE Mathematics (or equivalent) at grade C or above. Previous experience of computing is desirable. We welcome international applications and applications from students with a range of non-traditional educational or professional qualifications.

Course content
The course aims to provide the skills and expertise required for a career within computer systems hardware, computer networking, software development or internet technology. A hands-on approach is employed and students have good access to up-to-date PC and workstation hardware and software.
A key advantage of these computing courses is that all students share a common first stage with flexible progression onto any of the Computing degree courses. For students completing the HND, transfer to the BSc (Hons) courses is possible at the end of stages one or two, depending on grades.
Stage one
Stage one of the Computing courses is common to all and focuses on the fundamental computing principles. These are covered in the four stage one modules of computer systems, computer communications, internet technology and problem solving and programming.
Stage two
In stage two the subjects specialise to develop further areas within computing. Students study modern networks, operating systems, internet programming and database technology.
