Entry requirements
A typical offer will be 260-300 UCAS tariff points. In addition to the standard entry requirements, applicants will be expected to have achieved GCSE Mathematics (or equivalent) at grade C or above. Previous experience of computing is desirable. We welcome international applications and applications from students with a range of non-traditional educational or professional qualifications.

Course content
The course is designed to be taken as a major, joint or minor subject as part of the joint honours programme. Computing combines well with a wide range of subjects including Criminology, Education Studies, Health Studies, ICT, Mathematics and Popular Music. If you're interested in studying Computing with another subject this is an ideal choice. Alternatively single honours courses of Computer Networks Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Computing and Internet Technology and Security, Mobile Computing and Graphic Visualisation are also available for students.
This computing course features a high practical content and leads to the acquisition of highly relevant vocational skills.
Stage one
Stage one of our computing courses are common to all and focus on fundamental computing principles. These are covered in the four stage one modules of computer communications, internet technology, problem solving and programming and computing mathematics.
Stage two
At stage two students develop areas of specialism through the study of modern networks, database technology, internet programming and systems design and development.
Stage three
In stage three the dissertation module provides project-based, student-driven study allowing development and application of concepts. The subjects broaden to develop further areas of database technology, internet and computer security and network planning and programming. By the end of the course, students will have a good understanding of the operation and the application of computing technologies.

Fees quoted are for home and EU students commencing their course in the academic year 2012/13. Tuition fees are payable for each year of the course. The fees are subject to annual increases in subsequent academic years.

- Foundation Degrees and HND programmes consist of 240 credits in total
