Course content
We combine a programme of practical skills with academic study so that students gain a working knowledge of industrial practices, as well as an appreciation of the social context in which journalism operates. We have a practical resource base and produce our magazines and websites in co-operation with local media outlets. We have radio and television broadcasting facilities as well as opportunities for students to showcase their work. Successful HND entrants can enter the third stage of the course supported by a special bridging programme.
Top-up students gain direct entry to stage three. Stage three students take part in placements, produce a major project and write a dissertation. The final project might involve producing a magazine, a radio programme or a video documentary.
