Course content
The aim of the course is to develop clinically knowledgeable and competent individuals who are able to initiate change and whose mission is excellence in the provision of cancer care. As a focus for practice development it incorporates the main themes arising from the NHS Cancer Plan (DOH, 2000) and many other current policy documents.
The award has been designed so that the wealth of personal and professional experiences that individuals bring is recognised. Knowledge and skills are then further developed through autonomous learning and from key research-led principles.
This course is suitable for all professionals caring for people with cancer.
This award is offered as part of the post-qualifying programmes in health, through the School of Health at The University of Northampton. The award is divided into discrete units of study called modules and each module is credit rated (credit points). Students must accumulate 120 credits points at level three in order to achieve this award.
