Course content

The MBA is the leading internationally recognised qualification for practising managers. The MBA (full-time) aims to equip Honours graduates from any discipline with the knowledge, skills and competencies to manage effectively in modern, complex and increasingly dynamic business environments. It also builds upon the skills learnt through their own management experiences (with a minimum of two years management experience being required for this course).

The programme consists of two taught semesters followed by a third semester in which a dissertation of 15-20,000 words is undertaken. The dissertation should be management-related and allows students to apply knowledge, skills and competencies developed in semesters one and two.

During semester one, students will be offered additional support in Study Skills and in semester two there is the module 'Research Methods for Business' in preparation for the production of the dissertation in semester three.

Special course features

  • All the evidence indicates that, to compete in an increasingly hostile international environment, managers need comprehensive professional education and development. The MBA from The University of Northampton provides a major opportunity to meet this need.
  • Another challenge facing international managers is the need to work in a multicultural context and the international membership of the University's MBA course facilitates increased awareness of international management practice through working in a multinational environment.
