Course content

The course provides key insights into marketing practice and theory in a range of managerial contexts. The focus is on the planning and decision-making processes that are essential to good marketing management. Northampton Business School's Division of Marketing is a dynamic and stimulating environment, where we run a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and post-experience courses. Our excellent links with local and national businesses enable us to provide guest lecturers and client projects on many of our modules. The experienced tutors on the programme ensure that graduates not only gain knowledge about marketing, but will have the skills to be professional marketing managers.

The course is designed to cover the core knowledge and skills needed by the modern, professional marketer, together with a range of options to allow specialist interests to be pursued. The course is structured so that students study five modules, plus a project.

Students study marketing management, then choose four further modules from our portfolio. In the individual marketing project, students choose a marketing issue of practical relevance, and produce a report of their research findings, together with recommendations for marketing managers. For many students, this allows them to focus on a topic of personal interest and relevance for their future careers.
