Additional support arrangements

The Additional Student Support and Inclusion Services Team (ASSIST) promote equal opportunities and enable disabled students to achieve their full potential. Support is available to all disabled students – whether you’re studying full-time, part-time or distance learning at undergraduate or postgraduate level, for home, EU and international students and also if you’re studying at one of our partner institutions.

The service offers support to students with physical and sensory impairments, specific learning differences such as dyslexia, autism, mental health difficulties or medical conditions.

If you are looking to study at the university you should contact the team to discuss any adaptations and arrangements that you might need to support your learning, such as:

  • dyslexia screenings
  • personal emergency evacuation plans (PEEPs)
  • deaf pagers for use on campus and in Halls of residence
