Here is a list of frequently asked questions about how to use the virtual tours. If you have any specific problems that are not covered below, please contact the web team.

Q: Why can't I see the virtual tours?

A: If you cannot see the virtual tour, then you are probably missing the software that is needed to view them. The software is free, and you can use either QuickTime or Java. We recommend QuickTime for the best experience.

QuickTime

Tip: The default QuickTime download for Windows comes with iTunes, but for a quicker download, select 'QuickTime 7.1.3 for Windows 2000/XP' as shown below. You do not need to fill in your email address if you do not want to:

Java

Q: I am getting a red JavaScript error message, what does this mean?

A: If you are getting a message saying 'You do not have JavaScript enabled so cannot view the virtual tour', then this means you need to enable JavaScript in your browser.

For instructions on how to do this, consult the 'Help' menu on whatever browser you are using. If you are using Internet Explorer 6.X then instructions are below:

Instructions for Internet Explorer 6.X

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
  3. In Internet Options dialog box select the Security tab.
  4. Click Custom level button at bottom. The Security settings dialog box will pop up.
  5. Under Scripting category enable Active Scripting, Allow paste options via script and Scripting of Java applets
  6. Click OK twice to close.
  7. Hit Refresh.

Q: How do I control the virtual tours?

A: Depending whether you are using QuickTime or Java to view the tours, the controls are different.

If you are using QuickTime:

Using a mouse

To move around the image, hold down the left mouse button and point the arrow icon in the direction you want to move.

To zoom in and out of the image use the + or - symbols, as illustrated below:

Using a keyboard

To move around the image, use the left and right arrow keys in the direction you want to move.

To zoom in, use the Shift key. To zoom out, use the Control key.

If you are using Java:

Using a mouse

To move around the tour, hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse in the direction you want to view. To zoom in and out of the image use the + or - symbols, as illustrated below:
