Campuses
Maidwell building, Avenue Campus
We are committed to your future and our Avenue and Park campuses offer the perfect locations in which to reach your full potential.
Over the past few years £74m has been spent on developing both campuses and we have many exciting plans ahead — including the investment of £80m in new building and facilities developments over the next 10 years, beginning with the opening of our new 'one-stop' Student Centre on Park Campus in 2006.
The first thing you'll notice is the green, wide open spaces in which we're situated. You'll also notice the wild rabbits and squirrels who are our friendly neighbours!
Not only does our location encourage open-minded, creative thought — both of our sites also offer a secure and pleasant environment that we feel is important for all of our students to perform at their peak.
Avenue Campus
Less than two miles from Park Campus and adjacent to one of the largest parkland areas in Northampton, Avenue Campus is just one mile from the town centre.
It's a major centre for art, design, technology, architecture and the performing arts and is establishing an excellent reputation as an open, regional 'Arts Centre for all', with art gallery viewings, theatre performances, exhibitions and much more. Plans are underway to re-establish Avenue Campus as the start of the 'cultural mile' in Northampton.
The Campus is equipped with workshops, laboratories, computer aided design suites, dance and drama studies, as well as a restaurant, campus shop and bar. Particular investment has been made in the digital arts this past year and a refurbishment of its teaching and library facilities.
It is a smaller Campus than Park but it offers a very close community atmosphere.
Park Campus
Park Campus
Set in 30 hectares of open, green parkland, Park Campus is within easy walking distance of a busy, local shopping area with banks, supermarkets, shops and pubs.
The Campus itself is very impressive and spacious, with an extensive library, modern restaurant, a sports hall, shops, bars and a nightclub.
It's very easy to find your way around and features every resource a student might need on Campus. It also plays host to the lavish annual Northampton Graduate Fashion Show (by our Fashion students), as well as the annual 'PavFest' organised by the Students' Union, which this year had Biffy Clyro and DJ Luck & MC Neat headlining.
Northampton Business School, the School of Education, School of Health and School of Social Sciences are based here, with some School of Science and Technology courses on Park Campus too. Particular investment over the last six years has been made in new buildings including the new Student Centre, and specialised teaching areas for science, humanities and social sciences, and professions allied to medicine, management and business.
